It was like a lucky number 7! So that brings me to my next “goal”…….I will be leaving WordPress. Yep, I have decided that WordPress isn’t quite the right fit for me. I’m not knocking it, it just doesn’t allow me to be as “creative” as I’d like. There are not as many options and bells and whistles. I will be making the move to Blogspot! I know that many of you are already there and I hope it’s as easy as you all make it look! My GOAL is to be there, up and running by next Friday, June 18th. Which means….if you currently have me on your blogroll (thank you ♥ so much!), you will have to update your link to find lil ‘ol me. I will keep you up to date!
Speaking of dates, my little fireball had a date with a newfound love: toilet paper…
She discovered it on one of her little journeys through the house. Should I have scolded her? Nah, not this time…..I saw it more as a scrapbook layout! Is it horrible to think I could never ever scold her? I know that day will come, but in her little 8 months of life, I think I’m happiest being the pushover!
And on the exciting news front….are you prepared to be super jealous?? Well…..do you remember waaaay back when…..when I posted RIGHT HERE about Savannah Lane Designs?? She was this newbie etsian ready to share her beautiful hats with the world….and I had her create this amazing “rainbow” hat for Lilyana….
and then she was even sweet enough to credit me with the rainbow color scheme…check it out: here!
Want to know why?
Because so many of you went to her shop and put in special requests for her hats (you know who you are)…..
and now she offered me a COMPLIMENTARY hat of my choice! Wasn’t that super sweet of her?? I took her up on that offer and decided Lil needed a “fall” hat JUST like this one….

I swear, if I keep finding edible fabrics like these hoots, I am going to go BROKE!!!!
Now, seriously, aren’t these little fellas soooo cute it hurts??
And, I got that paper, too…I don’t know which is cuter? They BOTH hurt my eyes!
You know something super cute is gonna come out of that paper! Wait and see!
And, I’ve already cut into that fabric….to make these cute jumbo tags..
and this fun stitched up card:

Oh how fun! I am working on things I shouldn’t be!! Do you ever do that? You have things that HAVE to get done, maybe a special order or things around the house…but…then you get something new and yummy and you just gotta dive in and CREATE something?? That’s how I am, I can’t help it…I have always been like that…gotta have it, gotta do it–NOW! LOL!
Someone asked about adhesives and I though it was a GREAT question…problem is, I use soo many different types, so I thought I’d share.
My most favorite “adhesive” is my sewing machine…I use it for soooo many things, most of which is paper!
For a 3-D pop up look, I love these by Paper Studio, they’re called “sticky-doos”:
When I’m wanting a shiny, glossy, raised look, I loooove using this stuff called Glossy Accents:
Here’s what I use when I need to glue together buttons, acrylic (as in acrylic albums), other plastic embellishments, this Quick Dry adhesive works great for me!:
These are perfect for ”gluing” sheer papers (vellums, etc.):
And, sometimes I have an itching to use these sticky FLAT dots…for quick, permanent jobs (i.e. getting a small embellishment on paper–like a sequin)
I love this two way liquid glue stick because there’s a small tip and then a large spongy tip on the other end…perfect for larger jobs, but BE CAREFUL not to use this stuff on anything you don’t want to “wrinkle”, as this will wrinkle papers as it dries. Not bad, but noticable.
Same with this stuff, but I will use these to adhere specialty papers like corrugated cardstock or some fabrics to paper:
For everyday, all day craftin’ fun, I use these mounting squares:
They are a bit more work, but they are so worth it!! I love these…and you have to make sure to get the PERMANENT ones, not the removable (what’s the point, right?). They have filled many a scrapbook page and card….they’re awesome, high quality and stay in place! And, don’t skimp when applying these babies! The more you use the stronger and better your product.
I tried this gadget (for $10!!!!):
And I HATE it. It’s supposed to dispense those mounting tabs that I so love…well…RIGHT RIGHT! This thing was a pain in the you know what to use and it didn’t dispense the tabs where I needed and wanted them. Clunky and too big…I would not recommend this, sorry! I don’t even know what it’s called, but that’s not a problem since you wont want to buy it anyways. If you already have this thing-a-ma-jig and love it, kudos to you for puttin up with it!
WHEW! I told ya I use lots of adhesives!

Lots ‘O Goodies to Share!

Guess what! I got a temporary camera cable (mine’s on the way…from far far away)…yay! So, I have lots and lots of pictures to show you….all of which were being held hostage in my camera!!
Let’s start out with some recent purchases that I LOVE!
Like these pretty patchwork pants from Sweet Birdie Blue…..
I had her make them a bit long, so I could roll them up and maybe still have nugget wearing them into Fall…..aren’t they so so fun and cute?? If you love retro, bright, colorful, vintage fabrics…go my gal at the above mentioned shop–her stuff is soooo sweet! Tell her Shelly sent ya!
OK, so I already have a cutting mat for my rotary cutter, but it’s grey ’n ugly and all nicked up. So, when I saw this cute Heidi Grace one….well, it made it’s way into my cart and now it’s mine! And, it was 50% off, thank you very much. Aren’t the little goodies on the side fun, too?
And, I though these stamps were fun, too…..perfect for putting edges or a frame around my photos that I scrapbook….can’t wait to use ‘em!
I thought it was a bit early for Target to be putting out it’s “back to school” stuff…BUT, then I saw these adorable Hello Kitty glue sticks and made ANOTHER impulsive buy. Dang you, Target! Why, why WHY do you have to constantly have cute stuff…..stuff that I can’t resist and DO NOT NEED???
Now…just some goodies I’ve been workin’ on……
A fun 12 X 12 scrapbook cover design for a sweet little girl…fun and bright! I don’t know if you scrapbook or do any sort of paper crafts, but if you do……don’t you just LOVE the mixture of paper and fabric? I do and use it in almost every one of my layouts now. I love the mixture of textures!
Remember those yummy beads and bird pendant I bought a couple weeks ago…? Well, I worked on making them into a necklace and here’s the finished product:
The best part of this necklace (in my opinion) is that the swallow pendant is NOT in the middle of the necklace….it kind of floats off to the side. I like how it turned out, for not having made jewelry in over a year! It got me wanting to make more….but nope, no time for that right now.
I also worked on some new goodies for Lemon Tree over the past couple of days………how about a pile of birds?
Or this sweet baby congrats card with lots of bling!
I thought it would be cute as a set..with this matching gift tag…
Yes, yes…there were owls involved….one that looks so yummy with those Heather Baily papers…
And, here’s my huge owl card….oh, how I love her! She stands almost 8 inches tall and she’s all dolled up with a sparkly flower…isn’t she cute? She’s so big, I had to make her her own matching envelope because she didn’t fit into anything I had! I’m still thinking of a name for her….you’ll have to check out the SHOP to see what I came up with. She’ll be flyin’ in there tonight…
UPDATE: I named her…..?????
I also noticed that Target was jumpin on the owl band wagon….these are cute, but a bit too shiny for me…

The Perfect Weekend

WOW…..what a weekend! The weather here is what made everything so perfect. Breezy, warm, sunny and NOT HUMID. I knew there was no humidity all weekend because I didn’t have to shellac my hair with THIS STUFF! I have the world’s most yucky-wavy hair that frizzes out to the high heavens any time there is a drop of moisture in the air! The weekend was filled with lots of family time, grilling out, another trip to the zoo, fireworks, shopping, relaxing outdoors, long walks and happy times. I’m sad it’s Sunday, but grateful for the long weekend together as a family. I hope you had a fabulous weekend, too!

Speaking of my camera, I did order another cable/cord thing and I should have it later this week…it’s driving me crazy to not be able to upload pictures!! My computer is so old school that it doesn’t even have the spot to just put in the memory stick to upload. Which also means I haven’t been able to list all my NEW items in Lemon Tree!! ARGH!

Just Been hangin’ Out…

Yesterday and today were fun “girls only” days for Lil and I……….we painted and ripped up papers yesterday morning and we went to lunch together at Cosi, where I talked and Lily listened. She’s at that stage right now where she STARES at people and I mean STARE. Her staring specialty right now is: men…old men, young men, baby men, groups of men, men with their significant others, men, men, men. She’s gotta thing for the guys I guess. It can be embarrasing, but really…whatever, right?
After lunch, we did a little shopping at Old Navy…and I gotta say this: sometimes their clothes are cute and sometimes they’re “meh, no thanks”. This season…not so good in my opinion. And I can usually find random “hip” polo shirts for the hubby there, but NOT TODAY. Here’s what I did see…
I’m sorry, but would your hubby/boyfriend wear these yellow floral shorts?
How about these turquoise & pink tee’s? NO WAY, Jose….wont be findin’ these on my hubby’s back. He wouldn’t even wear these for Halloween.
Sorry, Old Navy…..but what were you thinkin?? I love the 80’s as much as the next person, but the men’s side actually made my gasp out load, LOL!
Next, we went to our Baby Story Time at the library, which is pretty fun…we sing songs, watch puppets, shake noisemakers and listen to little board books. So so cute to see all the little babies together, she just loves it!
Fast forward to today…..another fun day since it’s been absolutely beautiful outside, pure perfection at 75-85 degrees and sunny! We went to lunch together again today, but spent most of our time outdoors, watering flowers and going for long walks….and splashing in Lily’s baby pool for the first time. It certainly wont be our last becasue she was in heaven! I had some super duper cute pics to share, too…but my camera’s “cord thingy” that allows me to transfer the pics onto my camera got wet today and now it’s not working!! I hate when stuff like that happens! So, I’m gonna have to let it dry out and see what happens….until then, NO CAMERA PICS
Which means, NO ♥FREEBIE FRIDAY♥ (I was going to do it early, tomorrow because of the holiday), since I can’t get a shot of the goodies! I will resume the following Friday, assuming my camera’s “thingy” is working….
And, as if I didn’t have enough paper, here is some on my MUST HAVE, WISH LIST–it is YUMMY! I’m on wait list to get some! It’s this delicious deer and tree paper—here’s a pic of the front and back. Doncha love it??

Hi, Happy Sunday!
You see that chair? That is where I was supposed to be stationed today…
But, my HUGE stack of papers and pictures sat around in a messy pile…..That pile may not look that big, but, trust me….there are about 100 papers and even more pics under there! And that’s just Lily’s pile! Yikes!
I even tried pacing myself by getting one of these box divider thingys….the plan was to put the next few “layout” goodies in each slot…..the papers, the embellishments, the pictures…everything I would need to get the job done, without having to think much….well, as you can see, I continue to use the HUGE MESSY PILE as my organizational method of choice. I don’t even know what’s in this box anymore.
And I bought these cute CUTE Amy Butler scrapbooks….just to fill up with Lilybugs. Don’t hold your breath!
Soooo…..instead of plopping myself in that chair today, I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned! It’s amazing, now that Lily is eating somewhat solid foods, where I find the stuff. Smashed bananas under cupboards, little “yogurt melts” in every crack and crevice of of her high chair, I even found some old avocado smeared all over the leg of our kitchen table that I hadn’t noticed……….do tell: how does this happen when she only eats in one spot? She must whip that stuff all over when I’m not looking. Anyway, the house is clean….and ready for the week to come, so YAY!
I had a couple people ask about the vinyl that I used to make THESE TAGS….first of all, I purchased it at Joann Fabrics, and I believe it was a 16 gauge…it was either 16 or 20. Here’s mine:

I have been eyeing up this fabric for a loooong time and I finally gave in and got a yard of it, isn’t it kinda cute in a retro-y, mod sorta way? I just love it! No real plans for it just yet…
But I’ll tell ya what I do have plans for……..is this YUMMY-licious brand new Heather Bailey Freshcut paper!!
Looky at how pretty! I could stare it for hours, so so cute! I bought lots and lots of extras, so I will destash some in the SHOP…snatch it up if you feel you must have some!

And while I was paintin’ away, I thought I’d give some paper painting a try–something I used to do more of when I scrapbook, but kind of fell out of doing because I like to sew on paper so much more. But, this felt birdie and bling card turned out to cute, I think I’ll do more paper painting! This little lady will fly into Lemon Tree today! Along with some other new goodies….

Happy Wednesday! Here’s my dolly in her brand spankin’ new cart cover, courtesy of Just a Little Off Center…I love how it turned out! I sent my fabrics to this amazing lady and she whipped it up…aren’t the pears and apples so so cute? If you have a little nugget and are a germ-a-phobe like me, stop in and get your cover, you wont regret it!
Well, yesterday, Lilybug and I went to lunch at Potbelly’s…yum! Then we spent most of the afternoon shopping together (well, she better get used to it, right??). Oh, the usuals for us….Target, Scrapbook Superstore, Gymboree, Baby Gap (nope, didn’t buy any clothes for her this time!), Pottery Barn, and….well, one more stop….Victoria’s Secret. Do you think I ever buy bras there?? No, not really. And their little semi-annual sale sign was pulling me and Bugs in…even though I knew deep down I should stay outta there! And, if you know anything about me, you know that sometimes I can get obsessed on one thing and then I have to have SEVERAL of those things? See HERE for an example.
So, here is my current stack of Victoria’s Secret PINK pants …well, these are the 25 that are not currently in the wash. I love these babies like I love me some Puppy Chow. I guess I should just admit it–I am addicted to these pants! If you own them, you already know what I’m talkin’ about and if you don’t, you’re missing out on the cutest comfies EVER made!
So, I told myself I am not gonna buy any more of these!!! And, what do I do??
Yes, I bought these. But, but….but they are SO soft and have rhinestones! AND, they were on sale…..so, I justified it (bad bad bad). I’m pretty sure I need some sort of therapy on these sort of obsessions. Anyone a psychologist?
But, I do have to say that I have really CUT DOWN since Lily was born!
So…..ya think I’m crazy??? So be it!
And, you know I’m crazy about those dang owls, so here’s my latest….
