There’s still time to win a free card from my shop! Just read the previous post and gimme a Father’s Day gift idea!! I’ll let Lily draw the name on Sunday night!
Have a good one!
What are YOU getting him?

I am soooo stumped! I have been racking my brain for ideas on what to get hubby for Father’s Day! This is his first Father’s Day, so I want it to be kinda special…I need your help!! Here’s a few things I’ve given in the past (birthdays, Christmas, etc.): the standard golf shirts, golf balls, golf bag, golf shoes, golf towels, golf magazines, golf books, basically everything golf-y…he’s gotten it. I’m over it! Let’s see…what else….”comfy’s”, sunglasses, ties, dinners, handmade stuff (do guys ever really feel the same way as ”us” when they get a handmade clock or picture frame? Seriously now). Well, one year he did really like the (ahem) coupon book I made for him. So, that’s old news now. I’ve gotten him socks, underwear, outerwear, “vegas” wear. One year I even got him tickets to the PGA! Since we’ve been together for almost 11 years now…..it’s sooo hard! But, I want him to really be like “wow–this is awesome!”. Need to know more? He likes: golf (really?), basketball, sports in general I guess, with the exception of baseball. He’s an office-y kind of guy, not mechanically inclined, not a tools kinda guy, no Mr. Fix-It here. So, do you have any ideas on what I can get this man for Father’s Day? It doesn’t have to be expensive, or even tangible! It’s the thought that counts right?? Oh how I wish Lilyana was old enough to talk and give me the answer. Kids always have a knack for coming up with ingenious ideas that you would never think of!
So, help me out with this one! Post a comment (with a gift idea) and I’ll throw your name into a little fish bowl….I’ll draw a random name and they will get to choose any card from my shop for free!
*********AND, stay tuned…there’s more freebies (and surprises) coming soon!*********
Sorry for the lack of pictures in this post, really it was just a cry for help!
So…..here’s a picture of some yummy Amy Butler, etc. fabrics and paper for a custom order…..guess what it’s gonna be…!?
And, don’t be a fool–snag up some more sale goodies from Lemon Tree while they last. Here’s a little bonus JUST for my blog readers….mention that you’re one of my blog readers in the “message to seller” box when you check out and I will deduct and additional 10%–so, you’ll get 35% off each SALE item, instead of 25%. But, ya gotta mention it!! And, ya gotta wait for a revised invoice…
Have a happy happy day!
P.S. Lilyana’s cousin arrived on Memorial Day! Little Rocco Allesandro, 7lbs, 15 oz and cute as a button! Congrats to mom and dad!

Blech! This is what I usually have for “breakfast” every morning. I’m so not a breakfast person, no eggs, toast and all that nonsense for me. So, I’ve been having these smoothies for as long as I can remember and I just realized yesterday morning, HOW SICK I AM OF THEM! I have them because they are filling, but light. Don’t get me wrong, they’re good, but I am gonna puke if I have one more!! I need a break from these! Wanna make one and see for yourself what has occupied my belly for breakfast for so many years? Be my guest. Put the following in a blender: (all frozen) blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, some water–blend, then add: ground flaxseed, wheat germ, whey protien. That’s it. Lemme know what you think if you dare try one.
Basically I found a new breakfast that I am in LUST with! This little granola type “cereal” is delish, delish! And it comes in a handy box with flip top….perfect for snacking, too. From good ‘ol Tar-jay, of course. Mmm, yummy—-loooove my cranberries! LOL at laughing Lily!
My other new snack is this yummy Wasabi Rice Cracker thingys that I discovered at Cost Plus World Market–kind of an acquired taste, not for everyone! But, I love how they clear my sinuses and “burn” my nose, LOL. If you’ve ever eaten a nice chunk of wasabi japanese horse-radish, then you can feel my pain!
Soon to be sunflowers here! Too bad some bunnies snipped off the leaves of a few of these! Little buggers! Can’t wait to plant them in the ground and see how big they get….
Apparently it’s not very easy to grow big ones…I’ll be the judge of that.
So, if you read my blog, you’ll remember a while back when I was talking about re-vamping one of our guest bedrooms…it was done up all vintage-y (or dubbed the “grandma room”, by the hubby). I was tired of it too…….so, here is the before:
And, here’s the after…..
What do you think? I know you have your opinion, be brutal, be honest!
And, remember Savannah Lane? The etsy store that made my rainbow hat for Lily? Well, she did it again with this fabulous little cherry inspired hat! Yummers!
Date night tonight! WHoo Hoooooo!
Cheers! Have a great day!

Aaahhh, I just finished my first load of laundry with my new washer/dryer and it was….heaven! I love doing laundry. Seriously, I hate cleaning in general, but laundry…I don’t mind. April was calling herself insane because she folds a piece or two of laundry and then puts it away..then comes back and folds a bit more, puts it away….I agree, pretty insane, LOL. My downfall is that I can not, and I stress CAN NOT use or wear any article of fabric more than once. It must must must be washed after a use. Towels? Yes, gotta wash after one use. Jeans? Definately. Sweatshirts? For sure. The only thing I will let go is our bed sheets, those I am lenient on and will wash them 2-3 times per week. So, am I crazy? Probably. It’s bad of me, I know. I try to air dry as much as possible to conserve. But, looky at these beauties!! Helloooo lovers!! I’m glad you’re home with me now…I promise to take good care of you!
But, I’ll pay someone to do my dusting any day! Yuck!
Do you keep a journal? Or a diary? I never used to…but since I’ve had Lil, I wanted to keep a little journal for her…I’ve been writing little “letters” to her in these journals…just stuff about her, how much I love her, what she’s doing, all her firsts…etc. I would have loved reading tidbits about me that my mom had written, so I decided this would be my gift her her, maybe once she’s married or has kids of her own. I keep a little pile of generic journals and note pads by my bed so that when the urge strikes, I have them there. So, I was looking at them yesterday and thought they were soooo boring!
They needed a new life (hey, these are going to be around for a long time, so they shoud look cute, right?). So….you know how I love owls….

Cute little hoo book. This one went to the SHOP…..I liked it so much! And, it was fun to make….took more time than I really had, but still fun. I am in the process of making a few for me now…with Lil’s name on them. And, maybe a few more for Lemon Tree. Speaking of which, don’t forget, still having the….

On a parting note….this is so funny to me! About Lil…….and writing all the fun things she does for the first time….here’s one for the books!
I came in after her nap, cuz I heard her jabbering away, and this is what I see….I better be lifting that bar up! She was sooooooo dang proud of herself!
Happy happy Friday! Have a great Memorial Day Weekend too!
Just a Quickie!

Happy Hump Day!
Baby Bliss
May, 18 08 at | In Random, paper | 5 CommentsTags: baby, gifts, paper, shower
My sister-in-law finally had her baby shower this weekend. Remember the goodies I was planning to make for her…? Finished them up about an hour before I had to leave–talk about procrastinating! Her little package inlcuded some onesies, burp cloths, wash cloths, lovey blanket and a matching card
For something fun, I added a little toy to her package (it’s always harder for me to do “boy” things)!
Lilyana was so happy, so fun, so talkative, so sassy, soooo cute at the party…decked out in her lemon tree outfit! But the cutest news of the day?? She’s cutting her first tooth!! I was thrilled when I felt the little razor poking through…is that silly of me? I kept trying to get a picture of it (seriously, I did like 100 takes), but she was not interested in sitting still. I just love the new milestones that are happening during her first year. Almost each one makes me want to cry/laugh at the same time. I remember when I was childless, listening to other parents go on and on and on about their kids, I was like..”OK, enough already!!”. But, now I can see how easy it is to have such adoration and an overwhelming LOVE for them. It’s almost unbearable!
She didn’t nap the whole time we were there…and about 10 minutes before we were leaving I buckled her in…and POOF! Sleepy time set in. Then a crowd gathered and admired her little chubby foot that came out for some air. Why are babies feet so nummy??
So, hurry up baby Wilson…..we can’t wait to meet you!! Lilyana needs a cousin! (my SIL is due next week)…
*******************************************************
Today I went shopping (I know, I know…I was supposed to be scrapping, but Lily never let me get around to it). And, I found this fabulous new paper pack….12 X 12 goodies in a nifty zippered pouch….super fun stuff, bright and colorful!
Lots of papers and tons of punch outs—-so many ideas whirling through my head!
Aren’t these fun? Archiver’s…I love to hate you!
So, I have a question for all you moms out there! What was/is your favorite milestone or funny/sweet thing your child did before turning 1? I gotta know!
Happy Sunday!

“G” Sale Yummies & More!
May, 15 08 at | In Random | 5 CommentsTags: etsy, garage sale, retail therapy, shopping
I don’t know about you, but I love love love getting yummies in my mail box! And today I got three of them! All from etsy, of course…
These fab fab fabulous tall flower pillows, courtesy of two left hands. Aren’t they delish? They are stuffed to the brim and have the perfect shape to them! I think one will go on our bed and one…maybe in one of the guest bedrooms…..sooo cute, love ‘em!
And, couldn’t you just eat this vintage trim?? Well, I could. It’s way wider and prettier in person than I could have imagined! Can’t wait to pretty it up with some papers! Thank you, trim goddess! I will be back for more!
And my last, but certainly not least package…these adorable house towels–yummy! I love them, little bit funky! Thank you for the chocolate too! I had been rummaging yesterday for some chocolate (trying to cut down) and came up empty handed, so the one you sent hit the spot!
So, aside from those goodies…I went garage saling (is that even a word??) today…….a little thing I like to call “G-saling”… and it was pretty darn good! But of the 4 hours I spent “shopping”, do you think I found anything for myself?? Barely! I did walk away with all these 12 X 12 paper sorters (for my monster paper mess) for $1.00–FOR ALL OF THEM! Brand new!
The best part is finding goodies for the Lily-Boo! Everything you see here–under $30!! I was soo proud of myself I had to line everything up like a display and make the hubby admire it all, LOL. He didn’t get it. My pride, that is. And the Lil got to look, but not touch! <—-we’ll get to the reason later, but I’m sure you probably know the reason already!
(just humor me) Seriously! Look at this stuff–most of it was like brand new! And, those are not even all the board books that I got–I still have a box of them in the car!
Lovin’ this chunky farm puzzle! 25 cents! Yes, 25 cents, true story.
A gigantic bucket of JUMBO legos–$2.00 for the entire thing! And these aren’t the litty bitty ones…
I even snagged a cute embroidered owl shirt for the Lil——–impossible!
$1.00, thank you very much.
And, why didn’t Lil get to touch yet? Well, mommy has a little OCD issue, remember? What to do with g-sale goodies?? Haul out the cleaning goods…spray, dishwasher, wash again in soapy water, rinse…then it’s ok. I know, anal….but I can’t not do it.
And, to top it all off….it was a perfect 68 degrees and sunny! I was driving past a million of these beautiful trees–does anyone know what they are?? Like a bright fuschia…
Gotta go start the santizing process now! Enjoy your day!
With a Cherry on Top!
May, 12 08 at | In Random | 6 CommentsTags: cherries, dad, etsy, father's day, gymboree, jane says, mom, mother's day, Scrapbooking, shopping
Happy Monday! Did anyone get/do anything super-super extra sweet for Mother’s Day?? Please share! I’d love to hear how sweet your day was!
Speaking of sweet, these little yummies arrived Saturday, from April at Jane Says…isn’t everything so cute and colorful?? Love love love! The birdie card arrived just in time for Lily to give to grandma for Mother’s Day! Skip on over to her shop–you’ll be glad you did!
Ooooh cherries, cherries, cherries! I love cherries, don’t you?? Not only do I love to eat them, I love to buy cute little girl clothes with cherries on them. Couldn’t leave these things behind—-had to have them! Aren’t they super sweet?? Gymboree is a horrible, horrible place. They suck me in like a bad drug every time there is a sale! I can’t stand it any more! I am willing my next child to be a boy…..seriously! (if you have a girl, you know what I mean).
And, these little hair pretties–these hold Lil’s hair so good, love em!
And lets not forget the little chubby feet that need shoes! Aren’t these scrumptious! Where are the mommy version of these??
Now that mom’s day is offically over, time to bring in the stuff for dads at Lemon Tree! Be on the lookout for cards and little gift ideas, like this “Me & Dad” book that you can fill with journaling and your favorite pictures…a perfect Father’s Day gift! Head on over to the shop if you wanna catch a glimpse of what’s inside this little “book” for dad!
Don’t forget to tell me your Mother’s Day sweet happenings!
We had gramma and papa over and grilled yummy food, recorded lots of fun memories on the cam, took a boatload of pictures, played, laughed and tried to stay warm (it was only 40 degrees here yesterday!).
HAPPY MONDAY!
