Aaahhh, I just finished my first load of laundry with my new washer/dryer and it was….heaven!  I love doing laundry.  Seriously, I hate cleaning in general, but laundry…I don’t mind.  April was calling herself insane because she folds a piece or two of laundry and then puts it away..then comes back and folds a bit more, puts it away….I agree, pretty insane, LOL.  My downfall is that I can not, and I stress CAN NOT use or wear any article of fabric more than once.  It must must must be washed after a use.  Towels?  Yes, gotta wash after one use.  Jeans?  Definately.  Sweatshirts?  For sure.  The only thing I will let go is our bed sheets, those I am lenient on and will wash them 2-3 times per week.  So, am I crazy?  Probably.  It’s bad of me, I know.  I try to air dry as much as possible to conserve.  But, looky at these beauties!! Helloooo lovers!!  I’m glad you’re home with me now…I promise to take good care of you!

But, I’ll pay someone to do my dusting any day!  Yuck!

Do you keep a journal?  Or a diary?  I never used to…but since I’ve had Lil, I wanted to keep a little journal for her…I’ve been writing little “letters” to her in these journals…just stuff about her, how much I love her, what she’s doing, all her firsts…etc.  I would have loved reading tidbits about me that my mom had written, so I decided this would be my gift her her, maybe once she’s married or has kids of her own.  I keep a little pile of generic journals and note pads by my bed so that when the urge strikes, I have them there.  So, I was looking at them yesterday and thought they were soooo boring!  Authors/picturehost/DSC00732.JPG

They needed a new life (hey, these are going to be around for a long time, so they shoud look cute, right?).  So….you know how I love owls….

Cute little hoo book.  This one went to the SHOP…..I liked it so much!  And, it was fun to make….took more time than I really had, but still fun.  I am in the process of making a few for me now…with Lil’s name on them.  And, maybe a few more for Lemon Tree.  Speaking of which, don’t forget, still having the….

On a parting note….this is so funny to me!  About Lil…….and writing all the fun things she does for the first time….here’s one for the books!

I came in after her nap, cuz I heard her jabbering away, and this is what I see….I better be lifting that bar up!   She was sooooooo dang proud of herself!

Happy happy Friday!  Have a great Memorial Day Weekend too!

  1. Ooooooh, she’s looking so big in her crib!!
Wow, that’s a lot of laundry, lady. Phew!! Good thing you have the heavy-duty set!!
I was finishing up my laundry last night and the last load was darks, so I threw in what my hubby had taken off after work, unbeknownst to him. Then he woke up this morning, saw clothes folded on his dresser, including what he’d worn the day before and went, “Is that my clothes from yesterday??” So confused!!! He thought he’d put them into a clean pile and I’d just folded them up and put them back. I had to explain how I did the laundry last night, yadda yadda. He was amazed. It’s nice to still have a little magic left, right?? :) Enjoy your weekend–love the owl journal!!

  2. Nutcase here…..love the new appliances…oooh la la.

    Journal rocks…

Lilyana…you sweet little peach you….she makes me smile….

…have I sent you pics of my family??

  3. It never occured to me that I would be smiling at a blog about laundry…but I am and you have the washer & dryer set I have my eye on. Well, not really. Both eyes are where they belong, luckily since I have no money to buy the W & D just now. Too funny about hubbies reaction…LOL

Your little darling is a “peach” quoting April. Kiss those dumpling cheeks!!!

My little darlings are almost 21 & 29! Our youngest was home for a couple of weeks recently. I happened to be going through my cedar trunk while she was in our bedroom and came across her baby book. WOW, what a trip down memory lane, a surprise for her as she had forgotten that I kept one, and a special moment to use the opportunity to transfer ownership from mother to daughter. It was a right of passage. A beautiful memory to cherish always.

  4. The washer and dryer look so FUN! Yes, that is right, I said fun! I am with you on the laundry…I don’t mind doing it at all…I just am not so big on putting it away!! Isn’t it funny how we ALL have our little quirks?!!

The own journal is darling! Hope you have fun working on the ones for Lily!! Enjoy your long weekend!!
