What are YOU getting him?

I am soooo stumped! I have been racking my brain for ideas on what to get hubby for Father’s Day! This is his first Father’s Day, so I want it to be kinda special…I need your help!! Here’s a few things I’ve given in the past (birthdays, Christmas, etc.): the standard golf shirts, golf balls, golf bag, golf shoes, golf towels, golf magazines, golf books, basically everything golf-y…he’s gotten it. I’m over it! Let’s see…what else….”comfy’s”, sunglasses, ties, dinners, handmade stuff (do guys ever really feel the same way as ”us” when they get a handmade clock or picture frame? Seriously now). Well, one year he did really like the (ahem) coupon book I made for him. So, that’s old news now. I’ve gotten him socks, underwear, outerwear, “vegas” wear. One year I even got him tickets to the PGA! Since we’ve been together for almost 11 years now…..it’s sooo hard! But, I want him to really be like “wow–this is awesome!”. Need to know more? He likes: golf (really?), basketball, sports in general I guess, with the exception of baseball. He’s an office-y kind of guy, not mechanically inclined, not a tools kinda guy, no Mr. Fix-It here. So, do you have any ideas on what I can get this man for Father’s Day? It doesn’t have to be expensive, or even tangible! It’s the thought that counts right?? Oh how I wish Lilyana was old enough to talk and give me the answer. Kids always have a knack for coming up with ingenious ideas that you would never think of!
So, help me out with this one! Post a comment (with a gift idea) and I’ll throw your name into a little fish bowl….I’ll draw a random name and they will get to choose any card from my shop for free!
*********AND, stay tuned…there’s more freebies (and surprises) coming soon!*********
Sorry for the lack of pictures in this post, really it was just a cry for help!
So…..here’s a picture of some yummy Amy Butler, etc. fabrics and paper for a custom order…..guess what it’s gonna be…!?
And, don’t be a fool–snag up some more sale goodies from Lemon Tree while they last. Here’s a little bonus JUST for my blog readers….mention that you’re one of my blog readers in the “message to seller” box when you check out and I will deduct and additional 10%–so, you’ll get 35% off each SALE item, instead of 25%. But, ya gotta mention it!! And, ya gotta wait for a revised invoice…
Have a happy happy day!
P.S. Lilyana’s cousin arrived on Memorial Day! Little Rocco Allesandro, 7lbs, 15 oz and cute as a button! Congrats to mom and dad!

I don’t know what you’re making with that fabric but I’m dying to see the finished product!! YUMMY!! OK, my philosophy of Father’s Day is what, yes, we wives can say “Thanks for fathering my child” but really, it’s about honoring our own fathers. It’s more about our children honoring their father and, of course, with little ones like ours, they need help!
The only Father’s Day gift I ever went out on a limb with was an album from Snapfish of captioned photos (chronological) of my hubby and son together, from birth through my first Mother’s Day (it’d be even cuter from Lily’s perspective, where I did it from mine). We still enjoy flipping through it. You could go pregnant through present or whatever. What about a beautiful framed photo of you both?? I bet he loves showing off his girls!! That’s all I got but you know I’ll be checking back for others’ ideas!!

Hi…I was thinking something personalized. Does he drink coffee? I have seen those travel mugs that are pretty nice and you have your daughter’s photo put on it. Also I have seen the frames that have a poem about Daddy’s Little Girl with a photo of your daughter. I will try to think of some other ideas.

It might sound a little cheesy at first, but I think a thoughtful gift basket put together from Lilyana’s perspective would be so cute! You could probably get everything you need at one stop shop Target. Let Lilyana peruse the aisles and pick out things for Daddy’s basket; a favorite snack, pack of golf balls, a magazine, T-shirt, etc. Also, you could include a photo of Lilyana and her Dad in a frame that reads “Daddy & Me” or something along those lines. That way, he’ll have things all around the house to remind him of his first official Father’s Day and how much you and Lilyana love him
Hope that helps!

Hmmm…this is hard!! I know guys don’t appreciate the albums and stuff as much as we girls do, but what about a Top 10 Memories of Lily’s First Year or 10 (or whatever #) Reasons We Love You So….or something like that! I have been going to do an ABC’s of You and Me album for my husband for 3 years now and still haven’t done it!! YIKES!!
Good luck!!

At Sharper Image, they have these key fobs that have alarms attached to them. THey are meant to attach to things commonly lost. The only thing is that you should not lose the little remote thingy which you’ll need to use to locate that item with a key fob attached. I think a box comes with something like 3 or 4 of these little alarms. Good luck.

Okay, it’s a bit extravagant, but last year the hubby got an iPhone and it is the. best. gift. ever. He can check sports scores on the sly, you can fill it up with pictures of your girl… the list goes on and on. Only problem is… you will want your own!

Well, I myself have not even nailed down a gift idea for my husband on Father’s Day. So, of course since all of us here are “crafty” I think a handmade gift is the first think on my mind. Since I see that your hubby is obssesed with golf, a mini golf album might be cool. I would use one of those round albums and find some cute golf papers/stickers & stuff.
Another great idea is to let your lil’ one finger paint Daddy a picture and put her cute handprints on them. I had put just handprints from my two girls when the were 3 and 3 mo. for Father’s day one year. It is framed and still hanging in our living room 6 years later!!
Happy Crafting and good luck with your decision!!
