Hi, Happy Sunday!
You see that chair? That is where I was supposed to be stationed today…
But, my HUGE stack of papers and pictures sat around in a messy pile…..That pile may not look that big, but, trust me….there are about 100 papers and even more pics under there! And that’s just Lily’s pile! Yikes!
I even tried pacing myself by getting one of these box divider thingys….the plan was to put the next few “layout” goodies in each slot…..the papers, the embellishments, the pictures…everything I would need to get the job done, without having to think much….well, as you can see, I continue to use the HUGE MESSY PILE as my organizational method of choice. I don’t even know what’s in this box anymore.
And I bought these cute CUTE Amy Butler scrapbooks….just to fill up with Lilybugs. Don’t hold your breath!
Soooo…..instead of plopping myself in that chair today, I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned! It’s amazing, now that Lily is eating somewhat solid foods, where I find the stuff. Smashed bananas under cupboards, little “yogurt melts” in every crack and crevice of of her high chair, I even found some old avocado smeared all over the leg of our kitchen table that I hadn’t noticed……….do tell: how does this happen when she only eats in one spot? She must whip that stuff all over when I’m not looking. Anyway, the house is clean….and ready for the week to come, so YAY!
I had a couple people ask about the vinyl that I used to make THESE TAGS….first of all, I purchased it at Joann Fabrics, and I believe it was a 16 gauge…it was either 16 or 20. Here’s mine:

After cleaning, I whipped up these cute lil sock monkey magnets, aren’t they cutie-patootie?? They’re hanging around the SHOP, so go see!

I have OH SO MUCH to show you today! So, grab your iced coffee and let’s get down to business!
I have been eyeing up this fabric for a loooong time and I finally gave in and got a yard of it, isn’t it kinda cute in a retro-y, mod sorta way? I just love it! No real plans for it just yet…
But I’ll tell ya what I do have plans for……..is this YUMMY-licious brand new Heather Bailey Freshcut paper!!
Looky at how pretty! I could stare it for hours, so so cute! I bought lots and lots of extras, so I will destash some in the SHOP…snatch it up if you feel you must have some!
And something else I needed to have…were these darling birdie tags and birdie towel, both from Jane Says…swing by and get your own!
And, you know I love my birds (especially those owls)!!
Remember those bare bird houses I posted about HERE?? Well, here’s a little sneak peek at how they’re coming along…I makin’ this one bright and cheery, so fun!
And while I was paintin’ away, I thought I’d give some paper painting a try–something I used to do more of when I scrapbook, but kind of fell out of doing because I like to sew on paper so much more. But, this felt birdie and bling card turned out to cute, I think I’ll do more paper painting! This little lady will fly into Lemon Tree today! Along with some other new goodies….

Happy Wednesday! Here’s my dolly in her brand spankin’ new cart cover, courtesy of Just a Little Off Center…I love how it turned out! I sent my fabrics to this amazing lady and she whipped it up…aren’t the pears and apples so so cute? If you have a little nugget and are a germ-a-phobe like me, stop in and get your cover, you wont regret it!
Well, yesterday, Lilybug and I went to lunch at Potbelly’s…yum! Then we spent most of the afternoon shopping together (well, she better get used to it, right??). Oh, the usuals for us….Target, Scrapbook Superstore, Gymboree, Baby Gap (nope, didn’t buy any clothes for her this time!), Pottery Barn, and….well, one more stop….Victoria’s Secret. Do you think I ever buy bras there?? No, not really. And their little semi-annual sale sign was pulling me and Bugs in…even though I knew deep down I should stay outta there! And, if you know anything about me, you know that sometimes I can get obsessed on one thing and then I have to have SEVERAL of those things? See HERE for an example.
So, here is my current stack of Victoria’s Secret PINK pants …well, these are the 25 that are not currently in the wash. I love these babies like I love me some Puppy Chow. I guess I should just admit it–I am addicted to these pants! If you own them, you already know what I’m talkin’ about and if you don’t, you’re missing out on the cutest comfies EVER made!
So, I told myself I am not gonna buy any more of these!!! And, what do I do??
Yes, I bought these. But, but….but they are SO soft and have rhinestones! AND, they were on sale…..so, I justified it (bad bad bad). I’m pretty sure I need some sort of therapy on these sort of obsessions. Anyone a psychologist?
But, I do have to say that I have really CUT DOWN since Lily was born!
So…..ya think I’m crazy??? So be it!
And, you know I’m crazy about those dang owls, so here’s my latest….

Crafty Sunday

Sundays are one of my favorites. I get all day long to create-n-craft….without too many interuptions! Hubby and Lil-Bugs play the day away while I hole up in my “studio”. Most Sundays are spent organizing and cleaning my stacks of papers, fabrics and random bits, but not today! I went shopping, minus a little bug…and it always feels weird now when I go places with out her….like I’m naked! Anyway, I found this ADORABLE bird pendant-y thing that I had to have and now my brain is in overdrive!! Along with the bird, I found some other little charms and yummy beads….
this is going to be one cute necklace, I can’t wait to get started on it, but I have to get all my beads & supplies out (ugh!)……which wont happen until I finish up a little order of wedding invites….
I LOVE the color scheme of this gals wedding! She wanted something casual, unique, fun, funky, bright, cheerful and pretty…and the best part? She wanted owls! So, owls she’ll get! Who would have thought that pink, orange and yellow could be so dang cute together? I hope she loves ‘em!
I tried getting Lily to pick a name for the ♥FREEBIE FRIDAY♥ earlier today…..but she was way more interested in playing with mama’s yo-yo’s!
So, after gettin’ her fed and happy, I handed her the pile of names…

Happy Friday!
I wanted to start the morning with a glimpse at my pretty Lemon Balm plant…it’s so yummy…I’m always rubbing the leaves so it’ll give off that perfect lemon aroma…I love adding this to my tea! And, there’s Lemon’s friend, orchid, peeking in….oh, how I love summer with all the blooms!
Another reason to love summer? All the little birdies….and our backyard is a bird sanctuary, seriously! You can’t even sleep with the windows open around here or you’ll hear hundreds of birds singing loudly in your ears ar 3:45am! I think this may be the reason why we do not have that many mosquitos around our house. Can you believe I have not gotten one single bite from a mosquito yet? *fingers crossed*
These cute little bird houses were calling out my name when I spotted them….
Gonna pretty them up….wait and see!

Sweet, Sweet and Sweet

Today was the big swimming lesson day! My sweet little tadpole was VERY clingy in the water. She loved splashing, but any time I had to “swoosh” her around or have her face away from me, she cried! She had a king fu grip on my suit the whole time. She is in her “mommy” stage right now….she has been obsessed with being by me, holding onto me, etc. That’s just a phase, right? Don’t get me wrong, I do love it (when else in her life will she be this infatuatied with me, right?), but I don’t want her to ONLY come to me…know what I mean? So, here she is in all her polka dotted glory…
Such sweet fun! Her little guy pal there is Mr. Brooks…isn’t he a handsome fella in his crab shorts??

Seriously, look at these! Mmmm, yum yum! Poor Lily had to watch me rip into these before I even left the parking lot. Oh, they are so so good…and LEMON of course! So soft and fluffy, but it is the LAST time I am going to buy them!! I mean it!
Want to know who’s so sweet? How about that April girl over at Jane Says!? She hearts me, I heart her…it’s all good. She listed me as one of her SENSATIONAL SEVEN, which is so so sweet! Thank you, April!

Creepy and Cute

Okay, obviously I am starting with the creepy. I mean, seriously! What the…..?
Thank goodness I found these fellas in this condition, because otherwise I might have passed out. I mean, WHAT are they?? They have thick, hard shells for bodies and bulging eyes. These discusting little creatures are HUGE, too…..blech! I have no idea what planet they hail from, but it better be the last time I see them around–dead or alive!
So, I saw those uglies outside, and then just steps away…….ahh….do you see them in the water??
Our first water lilies are in bloom! Yay! These are my most favorite summer-time pretties ever….we have them in all colors and each one is so so pretty! And, there are little frogs and birds that I see jumping from lily pad to lily pad–oh so CUTE!
More cute?? I have it–right here! Here’s some cute little owl tags hanging out together in the sun….are they sweet?? I have to punch holes in their heads and hang some pretty strings on them, but other than that…they are ready for the SHOP later today!

And, i saved the BEST cute for last! My own little dolly is going to start swimming lessons this Thursday! She’s in the 6-12 month class called little tadpoles…isn’t that uber cute?? I am so excited and nervous…I can not wait to see the delight on her face when we get in the water together. She is going to love seeing all the other babies and splashing around! So, of course she needed an itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, yellow polka dot bikini…..

This weekend Lilyana and I painted pictures for daddy and boy did she ever get into it! She loves anything messy-sensory. My kinda gal! I don’t mind messes, they can always be cleaned up….and she was covered in paint by the time this event was over!

We ended up with a couple cards (one for daddy, one for grandpa) and a little masterpiece on the side. Her first painting! And certianly not the last…I can not wait to get all crafty-crazy with her!
We went to “gramma” and grandpa’s house and played with our new baby cousin and showed off our balancing skills to everyone. And we grilled out burgers and brats (do you know what a BRAT is?? I think it’s a Wisconsin thing). I don’t really like brats, but I love me a burger! Yummers! We hope daddy and grandpa had a fun, fun day!
So, when we got home, I threw the names for ♥Friday Freebie♥ in a pile on the floor in front of her….and she made a mad dash right past them! She had no intention of picking a name….she crawled right over them like they didn’t even exist, LOL!
So, I had to put them up high where she could stand (her favorite activity right now)–and act like she’s doing “big girl” stuff….
Then she LOVED touching the papers…she moved them around for a bit, not picking any up….
but then, she finally settled on a name….

For the Love of Lily

There are no words to describe the overwhelming feeling of LOVE & adoration I feel every single time I hold my daughter. It even scares me sometimes! I think…”Is this possible? Is this how I am supposed to feel? Do other moms feel this way??” I want to squeeze the living daylights out of her, seriously!! It’s like I can’t get enough of her. The feeling of love is so deep and so incredibly intense that I wonder how moms that have more than one child do it. How do you love more than one? I feel like I wouldn’t have anything left because she has it all. Obviously it’s possible, but right now…for me….it doesn’t seem possible. I plan on having another, so I guess I’ll find out then.

You know, people always told me…”oh, you’ll never really know what this kind of love is until you have your first child…” and I was like yadda, yadda, blah blah blah. I waited and waited to start a family (heck, I even contemplated NOT having one)…and now–WOW, that’s all I can think to say. If I had know it was going to be this sweet, this fulfilling, this remarkable…..I would have started years ago. I could go on and on all day long about how I feel about her and more importantly, how she makes me feel…but I wont. I have just been overwhelmed lately, watching all of her monumental changes in these first 7 months, that I just had to get this off of my chest! I’ve been feeling very emotional anout this lately! Watching her “grow up” has been bittersweet and I can’t wait for what the future holds for our family!
ANYWAY! Let’s move on…………..
Our trip to the zoo was a hit!! Watching Lilyana ooh and ahh at the animals was soooo much fun for me. At first she didn’t notice these guys….

Then they got really close and she was very confused/curious……aren’t giraffes kinda strange animals, when you really think about it? Beautiful, but strange…
Of course, I couldn’t resist a little polar bear shot…

…since the real polar bear was inside keeping cool–he never made an apperance…
But these snortin’ goats sure did! They got right in her face, snorting up saw dust all over the place! Again, she was in awe.

And, these grizzley’s came out to entertain, splashing in the water and bathing….she loved watching them play around!
